Here is a quick review of what Datarhyme found interesting at Plasa show 2012.

The Allen Heath GLD Series digital console is impressive, intuitive and easy to use. Additionally, the Yamaha CL Series is an welcome addition to Yamaha’s digital console range.

Allen Heath has also added some excellent additions to their compact mixer range with the ZED60-10FX and ZED60-10FX. Datarhyme currently uses the ZED-10 and will consider upgrading to one of the newer ZED60 models.

For touring sound speaker systems, the new Martin Audio MLA series is impressive with its use of intelligent software to optimise the sound based on the cabinet position in the line array.

Portable speaker systems were limited this year with RCF not showing their D-Line series, QSC not showing any systems and Mackie not attending. However, the new PRX400 and STX800 were on show from JBL.

Finally, you just couldn’t miss the high quality of the screen technology on display. Screen technology has really improved over the last few years. Some of the products were absolutely fantastic.
